Home Building Process
When you select Redfield Custom Building, LLC. as your custom home builder, we understand the investment you are making, and the trust you are placing in us. We understand the natural difficulties of our coastal environment – salty air makes the island a relaxing retreat, but it is quite harsh on building materials which is why we only use superior building products and building methods, so you can rest easy knowing your new home is built with the best products and methods our industry offers.
Our aim is to build a custom home that you will enjoy for many years to come, but also to provide a building experience that is enjoyable as well. Our home building process has been refined over 50 years of practice to facilitate just that. We look forward to being your custom home builder of choice.
Our Initial Meeting
Our initial meeting gives us the opportunity to go over and discuss your house plans, your home budget, and go over any questions you might have about the home building process.
Once your plans are finalized and have been certified by the engineer, we will submit them to the city or municipality for review and approval.
Our selections specialist will work directly with our vendors, making the process more straightforward for you. They will provide clear timelines, todo list, and provide resources to help limit the amount of stress that is often associated with the custom-building process.
With permitted plans, we begin the construction of your project. Clear communication is critical during all aspects of the build, which is why we implemented our online system to streamline the entire process. The system allows you to view your budget, make comments and send messages, approve your selections, and view weekly pictures of your home during the construction process. Additionally, there are various on-site meetings throughout the build where the custom details of your home are finalized. You will receive updates on your project at a minimum of once a week via phone, email or both.
When we are nearly 100% complete, we take this opportunity to walk you through your new home. From shut-off valves to operating your water heater, we introduce you to all aspects of your home and answer any questions you might have. If there are any punch-list items, we will mark these to be addressed.
After all punch-list items have been completed, we will turn the keys over to you.
